It all started
with a
bicycle bell
Originally from Germany, Kalkhoff, a leading brand in the world of e-bikes and premium bicycles, faced a significant challenge: to better position their brand within the retail environment. A former Gazelle marketing director, and thus a contact of ours, made the move to Kalkhoff and wanted to realize this ambition. Kalkhoff wished to strengthen their brand perception in shops and to improve the customer experience. Pitchkoff was asked to submit a pitch, together with two other well-known firms.
Unique, but recognizable
Pitchkoff developed a flexible and scalable store concept with which Kalkhoff could present itself in a unique way. Retailers were given the option of six different configurations, varying from XS to XL. This customization was essential because the store design was specifically tailored to the available spaces and had to be easy to assemble. Most of the products were delivered ready-made, allowing retailers to install their new store fixtures quickly and efficiently with a simple manual and support from a Kalkhoff account manager. This concept offered the ideal balance between simplicity and customisation, giving each store a unique but recognizable appearance.
Helicopter view of 50
bicycle stores
The process began with a presentation of the store setups to the Kalkhoff sales department. After approval, a budget was made available and materials were ordered for more than 50 stores. Kalkhoff then decided which configuration would go to which dealer. Pitchkoff was in charge of production. We wrote detailed manuals for each setup, which were both physically included and made available digitally. For the XL setups, which contain more complex elements, a specialized German assembly crew was called in. Thanks to our holistic approach, each Kalkhoff bike store received an impressive customized brand experience in the most practical and efficient way.
