After successfully designing and realizing seven e-bike test centres, we had the opportunity to start a new, ambitious project: the Gazelle Experience Centre in Dieren. This project served as an extension next to the iconic Gazelle factory and was intended to be a place where both the rich history and innovative future of the brand come to life.
Between art and bicycle
We looked at Gazelle's corporate identity elements and added ideas based on the rich history of the brand and its original premises in Dieren. A conceptually logical part of the Experience Centre became a museum section, for which we took the concept of “The New Collection” as a starting point. Before that, our mission was to apply the usual approach to exhibitions to the interior of the museum in an innovative way. This resulted in a dynamic and interactive space where visitors could admire both Gazelle's old and new collections.
Smart collaboration
After agreeing on the design, a plan of action was made on site with the facility manager and contractor, among others. In order to prevent construction delays and to efficiently plan ahead, we scheduled the work to be spread out. Pitchkoff directed the decorator and interior designer, while Gazelle worked with the contractor, electrician and painter. Our project managers and Gazelle's facility team were in contact almost daily to keep things tuned and the process running smoothly. Not a minute was lost or a euro wasted.
The shop-in-shop concept was launched in 2018. And in addition to the Netherlands, it can also be found in Belgium, Italy, France, England, Germany, Scandinavia, and the United States. With the new corporate identity, all Experience Centres and dealers are receiving an update. Realising this together with the Gazelle team was a wonderful challenge.
